3 Simple Ways to Look Younger
If you're looking in the mirror and wondering what happened, you're not alone. As we age, we all miss our youthful exuberance and wish we had more time to appreciate what we had. You can turn back the clock within minutes though with these simple tips.
1. Less is Better
Wear less makeup, and definitely don't wear powdery makeup. Powdery make-ups can make settle in those pesky little creases and make them more pronounced. The best way to judge whether your foundation is making you look younger, is to take a selfie of yourself without makeup and then apply different foundations. With each foundation, take a selfie. Judge the selfies and see which foundation looks better. You might actually find out that having no make up at all, except for a little brow liner, lip gloss and mascara is the best way to go
2. Switch Your Part, Add Bangs, Add Highlights
One visit to a great stylist can take 10 years off your look. Side sweeping bangs covers forehead wrinkle and can make you look younger. Additionally, changing where you part your hair can reduce gray hair. The side that you part your hair on sees the sun the most; this can make it get gray faster. Changing your part also gives your hair some volume which also makes you look younger. Protecting all your hair from UV light with a product will help preserve color. Adding highlights can brighten your complexion. Basically, if your hair looks young and vibrant, so do you.
3. Become an Optimist
"Optimists tend to look better as they age," says Christopher Peterson, professor of psychology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and author of A Primer in Positive Psychology (Oxford University Press). So smile a lot and intentionally start seeing the beauty in every place you're in. Make a daily list of everything good that happened during your day. The more you look for good things, the more they show up. And the more they show up, the more optimistic you become. Hence people start wondering what you did to start looking so good.
